The film was made and directed by Maya Deren and her husband of the time, Alexander Hammid. They are the principal actors as well as directors. This version is the third print of the film and includes music from Deren's third husband, Teiji Ito.
Maya Deren is discussed in "Material Memories" -- although this piece (probably her most famous) is not the one he focused on. It's just a taste -- everybody should know Deren's work, much of it's amazing.

I must be totally blanking out, but I can't remember when we talked about this. Which reading or idea does this relate to?
